Freelance Senior ICT Network Engineer

For our client, we are looking for a driven Freelance Senior ICT Network Engineer in the Leuven region.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining:
• Campus, datacenter, and cloud networks
• Routing, switching, wireless, and firewalling solutions
• Monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing network performance
• Troubleshooting complex network issues
• Performing lifecycle activities such as:
• Upgrades
• Migrations
• Standardization
• Technology renewals
• Contributing to infrastructure transformations and new site deployments
• Collaborating with security, infrastructure, and project teams
• Contributing to:
• Network automation
• Documentation
• Disaster recovery
• Improvements to processes and security controls

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise network environments
• Strong knowledge of:
• Routing & switching
• Wireless networking
• Experience with:
• Network monitoring & troubleshooting
• Performance optimization
• Good knowledge of network security, including:
• Segmentation
• Firewalling
• Access control
• Zero Trust

Technical Skills

• Experience with cloud networking
• Knowledge of core network services:
• DNS, DHCP, IPAM
• AAA, NAC
• Experience with network automation is a plus
• Knowledge of IT/OT networks (Purdue Model, IEC 62443) is a plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Communicative and team-oriented
• Able to work in complex and multidisciplinary environments

Assignment Details

• Start date: 15/06/2026
• Duration: 1 year (+ possible extension)
• Location: Leuven (hybrid – 3 days onsite mandatory)
